Hello,

Re: By mistake we have deleted/overwritten libc.so.6 and now my system is not
booting...
Re: It gets stuck, when system initializes init script and gives lib.so.6 error.
Re: What to do?how to recover the system.

I got the solution..actually what happened..

My one team mate was uploading some application data from one machine to another
machine ..it was some inhouse developed software
files ..after copied,he tried to run application in the system , ..system gave a error
of libc.so.6 (something..missing/not compatable),then he copied libc.so.6 from his
old system ...and rebooted the new system...
And then system didn't boot ...when system tried to initialize init..it got stuck
there ...and was giving libc.so.6 corrupted/missing..
Complied kernel was 2.2.12

and then solution...

I attached this HDD in aonther machine(with same kernel version) as slave and then
copied libc.so.6 in /lib and tried to boot ..it didn't happen then i copied the whole
/lib from master to salve ..and tried to boot ...it gave me
lilo error (got stuck at LI.....
then i chrooted on the salve and then run lilo there ...and rebooted machine after
making currpeted hdd as master and this time it booted nicely and i logged in.....

It was nie but i want to know more about libc.so.6...can anybody tell me in berief
about it ..

 Thanks in advance.
