The Realtek 8139 chipset is used in a number of LAN cards manufactured by different companies. I myself use a DLINK card which has this chipset and the 8139too module works flawlessly for me. no config. required. in earlier versions of the kernel the rtl8139 module used to work but now 8139too works.
