hi,

i tried software raid just for the heck of it a few weeks back..
anyway i found it too easy..

fdisk the partitions to the linux raid type (i think 'fd'is the label
code) and then set the /etc/raditab to whatever partitions you want to
include.

believe me the raid-howto that jasmeet referred to is quite important if
you wish to know about the jargon like left-symmetric etc.. which are
used in the tab file... (i mean, its better to waste time reading than
to say sorry once your data is in it..!! )

oh, you also need to do an mkraid on the partitions (i did, i am not
sure whether its required...), and raidstart/raidstop would help doing
what the names say.

also try /usr/share/docs/raid-xxxx/samples on rh systems... for sample
configs..
