Hi folks, Just signed into membership two days ag, though have been in and out of touch with the linux community for a while now.
I am a "system Admin" by default as my organization cannot really afford a proper system admin. I was originally working with Novell 4.11 and have now switched to Suse 8.1. Still having teething problems! In a desperate attempt to update my skills I joined a training institute teaching Redhat 8.0 (supposedly certified) and got a raw deal. (The centre of course offers you equipment that can make you drool!). Came back as fresh as ever, minus a few thousands of course! My colleague Ashwin Baindur would agree with me that the rip off was well organized and professionally handled!!! Nonetheless I am scraping the bottom with a somewhat running email server which refuses to work with the outside world though I have repeatedly configured fetchmail and hopefully postfix. The printer was working fine.but since the last two weeks some problem there too! Finally the web server is working for the local network.though does not work for the internet (more configurations I am sure!).
