folks i have searched around faq's and google - but still can't figure out - whether fetchmail can be used from behind proxy server and firewall. from what i understand this requires a fetchmail configuration which uses SOCKS-5. does that mean i have to re-compile fetchmail? has anyone used fetchmail from behind a proxy? btw, from where i am i have no ftp or telnet facility - so my only contact with the outside world is through http. does this mean fetchmail is out?
