excuses! sorry i forgot this excuse, but i already mentioned the rain excuse so none could use that. you could have still come after the paper. you know the meets last a good four hours and continues over samosas etc. so couple of more things i've learnt about linux-delhi: 1) they're pathetic. 2) they even make pathetic excuses. let's move on to the august meet: third sunday = 17th august, 2003. venue= CGO Complex. kishore recommends we take a topic, any topic, and cover it in three stages in the meet: so we get a focussed, tangible, result-oriented meet. the first stage is for beginners like me who don't know what a shell is from a shell shop, whether i can run linux from the start menu, and whether i can copy and paste between linux and msword using the clipboard. the second stage is for intermediate users. and no-brainer here, the third advanced aspects of that topic. the rest of the meet could move on to other topics, presentations, cd-burning and sharing of linux distros. gpjee, followed by snakes and tee. volunteers need to come forward to share their expertise on the topics. so let's decide on the main topic, and others please share what other presentation would you like to give. i suggest some topics: 1) LDAP: and how is it different from Prateek's LAP. 2) Securing the gnuLinux desktop for the internet ( IP tables, chains, and tools and techniques) 3) some intro talks on programming: perl, etc. 4) linux kernel optimization, hacking, etc. 5) etc. 6) etc 7) etc let's select and finalize a topic. then we'll take it further. ENDNOTE: kishore, please post the date, time, and venue of the meet in due time. once the agenda is confirmed, please post that as well in due time, with a reminder. set up some email reminder or date-stamped email in your mailer. :-) LL _______________________________________________ ilugd mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd
