How about doing something different?
My personal favourite is a voluntary blood donation event. Tell the
Red Cross in advance and land up at the Red Cross Building (near
Parliament House) around, say, 2pm. Donate, and go and celebrate at
nearby dhaba or UNI southie grub joint or somewhere.
Maybe we can get some publicity for Linux and Free Software too if we
plan it well in advance. In any case, each participant can have the
satisfaction of knowing that s/he has helped to save someone's life,
and his/her life hasn't all been in vain -- only been in vein, maybe.
