i checked out both morphix and the damn small linux websites. i found damn small linux too spartan for my work. it has no openoffice, mozilla, evolution, or other such software, and picks up much smaller and threadbare alternatives. to sit down, download, compile, and keep all the software i would need would be too much work.
knoppix has everything i need, save a few extra apps, and my personal data files and email archives. morphix looks more promising, with a modular approach. am still delving thru it. incidentally, at the next linux delhi meet, speakers can just bring in their own morphix cds, boot, run their impress slides, launch the software they are talking about in the background, and give a successful demo without having to mess up someone else's pc anymore. will give you my response on morphix once i've tried it out later. meanwhile, if anyone else has other options, please lemme know. (how does LinuxFOrYou customize their knoppix?) (given that the cd is bootable, will it work in a multi-session mode as i burn successive sessions of my personal data...?) ??
