whew! just finished a massive 117-slide openoffice presentation, complete with images, graphics, text, animations.
openoffice impress rocks. i do not see *any* reason why someone should be using powerless & pointless proprietory apps anymore, in my humble opinion. one extremely cool feature+workflow : i did some image-editing on-the-fly in openoffice to placed images. surprising how much you can do under impress, such as brightness/contrast/transparancy/hue/ color casts, and even some dazzling special effects. i would then click the image, export it out as a jpg, open cinepaint (which is gimp-film, or a photoshop-category app but in true 16-bit mode guys) and do ultra-sophisticated image-edit and special effects to the image. the OO impress image gets updated. i also do not see *any* reason why someone should be using proprietory image-editing software for this kinda stuff. hope i get enough time to burn the presentation into a customised knoppix-cd. wouldn't that be cool! i just have to pop the live knoppix cd into any pc, launch OO, and run my prez off the cd, without copying or touching any hardisk out there. (could even automate this). anybody from the win / mac domain wanna match this feature-to-feature? 50-paisa bet says you can't do this muft and mukt. rock on! :-) LL _______________________________________________ ilugd mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd
