yaar! i just read the article, and i think it is great. am so thrilled
that sco thinks it is an issue of GPL and its constitutional
implications on the US.

"McBride stated his case in no uncertain terms. "The GPL, under which
Linux is distributed, violates the United States Constitution and the
U.S. copyright and patent laws," he said in the letter. "

i think that's brilliant. i hope sco really takes this stand, engages
the US legal system to debate this. am sure you think it would be
dramatic if the US decides that this is unconstitutional. but imho, i
don't that is dramatic, i think that is probably going to be the
outcome.

why? the task of the government is to safeguard the rich from the poor.
so go figure who's side the govt. has to take. [hint: who's rich, er..
who's richer than the rich? who's the richest?]

what would be dramatic is if the GPL is considered constitutional and
legal. wow! that would really change everything. that would mean america
is really the land of the free. that it truly believes in justice and
liberty. because the further implications of the GPL would have ripple
effects on patents and copyright laws in medicine, music, books,
knowledge, and many other aspects. it would take time for the ripple
effect of the gpl to impact the other aspects, but with such a victory,
it would.

so i am getting my packet of moong-phalli (no popcorn for me in this
beautiful weather) and eagerly watching the stuff fly.

:-)
