RMS is right... before discussing the GPL we must
first get it's philosophy... shouldn't we...?
Free software is *not* synonymous with use of the GNU GPL. The GPL is
one of many free software licenses. For example, the X11 license
and the two BSD licenses are both free software licenses.
That's why I suggest reading
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html and
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html as preparation for
discussing these issues.
