Hi All,
I got a Knoppix3.2 CD last saturday. Today I have run my system on
Linux(Knoppix) for the whole day without any major hiccups.
Wonderful!
Here are some things I noted:
1. My sound card was not working with windows98. some driver conflict issue.
ran Knoppix and woila! sound card just started emitting some wonderful
music. All my colleagues were left stunned! The sound quality was much
superior to what I have on windowz.
2. Network configuration and windows network browsing using Lisa were so
easy. Neednt mention the autodetection of hard drive was such a pleasure.
3. Only problem is when I tried to make a persistent image of Knoppix on the
filesystem that it threw an error. i dont remember the error but was
concerning some KDE file which it could not locate in /usr/share/....
directory. If someone could help me with this then It would be really easy
for me to switch to Linux......... Now that I am really tired of all this
windowz bamboozle.....
4. Another thing is I need a email client which can import all my mails from
the Outlook Express 6.
Just once again........ Knoppix kicks and windowz s.......
