you have already downloaded the rpm . install it and run "hsfconfig" command located in the /usr/sbin directort by default . if the package doesnot have the modules build for your kernel it will try compiling them using the build tree of your default kernel. press enter for the default paths and values when it prompt you ,it will create the device file corresponding to the connexant modem in the dev and link it with /dev/modem in the dial up program (usually kppp or the conf file of wvdial) use /dev/modem as the modem device . Tone dialing is used by default but if your phone has pulse dialing then for kppp do as follows . start kppp go to the modem device tab click on the modem commands button search for command ATDT (tone dialing ) change it to ATDP for pulse dialing . create an account in kppp with default settings and enjoy the net.
if the rpm fails to compile (as it happened with me on fedora core) download the source and follow the instructions in it .
