Hi, The CERT Alerts and many others are free but come up slightly late. There is another organization iDefense which sends alerts for a fee. Usually they are the first to send alerts on the outbreak of any virus. E.g. in Sept 2002, We had received the info on Nimda virus just in time, and shut down our servers. So although our services were down, but we did not have to go through long process of Recovery from backups etc. (My company had trial subscription to the iDefense newsletters) iDefense services are costly and to my knowledge, the Indian Army, GE (US) are using it.
