CDs by title -- we don't know. The hottest-selling were Knoppix,
Debian and Fire.

T-shirts -- 6 got sold.

New registrants -- no idea. K would be able to give us some stats on
the size of the list before and after the event.

Number of visitors -- impossible to say, since it was not possible to
define the term ``visitor'', and we had many repeat visits. On the
whole I'd say we got something like 1000 visits.

Certainly good news, but I'd hope that a number of things would change
if you're looking for LUG participation again.

You could start with a change in the banner that dominates the event
itself, which says,

``[Open Source] is a pitch for "free software" on solid pragmatic
grounds rather than ideological tub-thumping. The winning substance
has not changed, but the losing attitude and symbolism have.''

Why ask ``ideological tub-thumpers with a losing attitude'' to
participate in your event anyway?

The other thing that could immediately change is the time we get to
prepare for the event. If we had had enough time for organisation a
number of the questions you've asked above could have been answered.
For instance, we could have done mailing list registrations at the
site itself after getting a working WiFi card, and answered many more
questions on-site through Google. We may even have managed to get
T-shirts ready in time for the event!
