hi this is harsh singal..
i am new to linux environment and have just started working on it....

i have some problems:

1) pls tell me what INPUTRC system variable is for?

This file is for setting up system behaviours, like what do you want if you press twice the tab command , How the programs in your path are viewed when you type tab-tab .. etc

2) also about nologin shell and in what conditions this shell is assgined to the users

When you are pretty much sure that the user don't need to login to your system at all, then generally /sbin/nologin OR /bin/false are given for shell to such user.

e.g when you are creating access to you samba file server, you need not to give them shell access/login facility, you may user /sbin/nologin to his/her shell.

Thats!
