I've got mplayer installed. Works like a charm. Plays all the dat files and VCD's.
Installing Xine after the installation of Linux is painful and difficult. Even PCQuest guys could not get it to work in their distro. Thus they had to remove it perforce.
Any way, PCQuest Linux 2004 is the recommended OS for linux enthusiasts.
