you could read thru the article at the url above. i don't have *any*
supercomputer cluster howto skills, yet. abhishek on this list had some
ideas, but he's migrated to hyderabad. am sure there are others on this
list who could show us how to do this. i know that there's a cd of
knoppix, called 'clusterknoppix' that does an amazing thing. pop copies
of the cd into each pc connected on a network and boot them to create
your on-the-boot cluster supercomputer. ymmw.

sandip, do you think you could help on this? supreet has experimented a
bit with clusters i recall. who all would like to research and volunteer
to set this up, please? i think this is a fantastic idea.

a volunteer, weekend, instant supercomputer.
a maggie, two-minute google.
a supercomputer for the heck of it.

LL have a look at this..... http://www.flashmobcomputing.org/

Couple of points I gather from the article:

1. They're going to release an iso after the even. We can use the same
iso for ilug event.
2. The purpose on the event is to solve or attempt to solve one problem
---- we need to decide on that.
3. To really run the benchmarking tests after the pc's are in place we
too need a gigabit network in place...either we choose to go with a
10/100 LAN or we need to find a place that has a g-bit switch and
cabling !!

Akshay
