Why don't you try this with Knoppix 3.4. Since the hardware detection in
Knoppix is sheer black magic, you may have better luck than with your
current installed distro.
Yesterday, at the meet on Raj's notebook his installed distro did not
detect the WiFi card, Knoppix did. Of course, we still had issues getting
it going from there on, but at least it was detected and installed and
showing without too much trouble.
