hi,

i am using mysql 3.23 and would like to upgrade to 4.1.1 (which is alpha release)
because new version have few date time functions which are not there in 3.23 such as
datediff().

my question is :

1. is 4.1.1 is ok if i install it, since it not a production/stable release yet?
2. is there anyway where i can have datediff() without having to upgrade to 4.1.1?

amit
