Try the wheel-mouse driver (code  imps2).

To start with, check your bios keyboard setting. Look for an option called 
typematic rate. See that it is not disabled but set to a default value.

Ambiguous question. What do you mean by opening a port? What are you trying to

Seems you have the i845/i835 driver. Not considered very stable on Red Hat 8. 
Maybe upgradation to redhat 9 willl help.

No it wont. That email id is just to  inform users about whom to contact if 
things go wrong with the webserver.

Should not have an effect on older data while upgrading.

Are you sure you want to upgrade to redhat9? Fedora core 2 is out!
