Thanks for responding. It is not this particular
instance that alone prompted me to ungraciously butt
in. Actually it's perhaps been noticed quite
frequently earlier too. Somebody posts something
off-topic and some of us come out with all guns
blazing. The poor sod tries to return fire and few
pointless exchanges later the whole thing dies out.
But that dude perhaps is never gonna come back to the
mailing-list. 

I understand that a certain set of rules has to be
followed so as not to deviate from the fundamental
idea of the list, but all I wanna point out is that
being polite and stern aren't mutually exclusive. Of
course a  thick skull might need harsher words now and
then, but our usual playful newbies who have never
been on a geek forum before, would do with, as you
say, a little rap on the wrist. 

So anyway, you guys are doing good work there's no
denying that. I just had to write something to feel
important, so I did. All this is just my opinion, and
I can be wrong.
