you need a firewire card in your pc. on the sony the port of firewire
is called iLink. someone else calls it 1394. all the same.

for software, try iMovie (oops! heck wrong OS, hehehehe) i meant,
cinerella, (cinelerra?). the site also mentions a more user-friendly
software alternative for newbies, as y ou may just find cinelerra
daunting. something called main actor worked under linux, but
disappeared mysteriously.

would be nice if you could also record the celebration called 'linux
india 2004' and make an edited promo or movie of it....
