Hi,

An external modem would be best for linux, but if you cannot get it, make
sure you get an internal modem with special drivers for linux. Most internal
modems are "softmodems" which rely on the CPU for some of their functions.
AFAIK, D-Link provides linux drivers. I have used them, they are ok, but the
speed is limited unles you pay.
