Hi list,
I know this is something awkward requirement, but i need it for benchmarking a java/oracle based product. I have a 4 CPU Xenon processors (ML570 G2) with 4 GB RAM installed with Redhat linux 8.0.
Requirement is i want to disable 1st cpu & check performance , disable 2nd cpu & check performance , Disable 3rd cpu & chek performance respectively & to check gains/performance. Is there any way i disable them *without* physically removing CPUs?
Many BIOS support this, Check the motherboard specs, However if you want to do this in Run time There's a patch at:
sourceforge.net/projects/lhcs/ that does this (CPU online/offline).
Cheers! Pankaj ( 2b || !2b )
