Well then let them do it get your account elsewhere, I stopped using there icicibank.com after I figured the site was not totally FLOSS compatible and would generate random errors. This is an era of consumers, if they think they are gonna get away with this well let them do so you can pick one of the hundreds of other options available. Its thre loss and not yours.
I use icicibank.com regularly, and havent found a problem yet. What problem are you facing exactly?
Forget banks, and IT savvy company like Net4india doesnt have standard compliant websites. Their reseller customer service website (partners.net4domains.com) works properly only with IE. The trouble is some stupid javascript which still uses Microsoft proprietary document.all. I have even mailed them the fix, and they still havent corrected the problem yet.
Thanksfully, since KHTML supports document.all, I have been able to use Konqueror to use their site. But again, how many people use konqueror as compared to Gecko based browsers? On top of that even Konqueror is going to be fitted with Gecko soon.
I propose setting up a Linux unfriendly products/services website, where we maintain a hall of shame for Indian vendors/companies who discriminate against consumers choice. We mention here both hardware and websites of companies which force consumers to use proprietary technologies, or otherwise perpetuate vendor lock in.
