It says 141 running 140 sleeping. So who would be doing the I/O
blocking. 

Also how does one go about figuring out who is blocking on I/O.

Remember this is just a Fedora Core 1 installation on a HP Blade - all
unnecessary services turned off including MySQL which is the primary
role of this server.
