I want to put all my html and cgi in /home/skdubey/website. for it i have created all directories as in /var/wwww/ and given mode 755. even 755 to /home/skdubey.
I am guessing that you created a link in /var/www to point to /home/skdubey/website.
The directory need to be accessible by the user apache is running under, mostly apache or www-var. That user needs to have "execute" permissions on the directory and the scripts.
man chmod, chown.
