Hi there,
I had this similar problem. It wouldn't let me
install a certain version of Linux because hard drive
couldn't be detected. Even after installing the
version it allowed me to, system would hang. There
were some errors in the logs that HP guys couldn't
explain. They had me run some diagnostics in dos mode
which of course went fine. The only solution was to
decommission that server. HP hardware doesn't support
Linux very well. This status was about 2 years ago and
may have changed. I would talk with HP guys or may be
try Fedora core 3 as it may have better h/w support
and latest drivers.
