Greetings, > I was installing redhat 9.0
Why? :-) Contact the LUG's CD list, and get yourself a copy of the latest version of Fedora, which is the latest in the redhat series of distributions. It solves a lot of hardware issues such as the one you seem to be having. Alternatively, buy this month's PCQuest magazine - it has Fedora Core 3 (PCQLinux) on it, which IMHO is a pretty decent distro to install. > The screen is full of text and last line reads like > 'ehci-hcd ' also USB was > written in the last line. Yes, it looks like you're having some kind of an issue with the USB module and your mouse. Which mouse is it? You might want to install the system using your PS/2 mouse, and once the system is installed, attach your USB mouse and then approach the list - you have quite a lot of options once you have linux installed on your hard disk. > installing Linux is a risk to Hard Disk , is it > true ... The system already has Windows XP and Win 98 > installed.. Lol, Linux is definitely less of a risk when compared to the other two extremely virus prone OSs which you have installed! Seriously, Linux is run by more than a million people world wide for applications ranging from Rocket launches to making simulations for nuclear devices - no one uses windows there. You still unconvinced? :-) Cheers! viksit -- Viksit Gaur me[at]viksit[dot]com viksit[at]linux-delhi[dot]org http://viksit.com 'Not all who wander are lost.' - J.R.R.
