Thanks, I was able to get the GUI working after a few blind tweaks here and there and issuing the command startx-though it is still giving me troubles occasionally. I am facing two problems right now- 1. While I installed a new font (DEVlys010) -a Hindi Font, it did show me up in the fonts installer list of installed fonts but when I open the oowriter it does not show. I installed the font both as user and again as root-but no luck. 2. I had a spare motorola sm56 softmodem which I wanted to use. I got the driver for mandrake10 for motorola sm56 but it does not work for Mandrake10.1(community edition). I had thought the driver for mandrake 10 will work for 10.1 too. Is there any tweak possible with any config file etc. to make the sm56 work for mandrake10.1 also. Thanks, Rajesh
