Hi, > The question I have is how proprietory is JRE - do I have to buy it to > use or what - do I need a licence etc and finally where can I get it. The JRE is free as in price. But it's certainly a proprietary software. It's really sad to see how OOo is becoming more and more Java dependent. In this way it's becoming a real bloated product and is also drifting away from being a true Free Software. IMO, the time is ripe to fork OOo and strip out the bloat/Java from it. Regards, Bhaskar
