Hi, I have BSNL Dataone connection in Noida and I have Mandrake10 installed in my machine. BSNL has given me MT880 which is a ADSL router cum modem.
I have been using rp-pppoe scripts (adsl-start, adsl-status, adsl-stop etc) to connect to Dataone. In my last two month's experience, I am never able to connect to BSNL at the first attempt. It will not connect even after several attempts. Then I need to clean the files(ppp*) at /var/run and also kill the processes "pppoe" and "pppd". After doing these, it usually connects at the first attempt! I have tried to use the in-built PPPoE dialer also inside MT800. But that also never connects at the first time! I would like to know if anyone else in this group is using Dataone (from Noida/Gurgaon/Ghaziabad/Faridabad) and how is his/her experience. Thanks.
