Just now, minutes before, I was emerging k3d (not k3b) on one tty, top
was running on another & i was logged into Gnome 2.10. emerging k3d
took my load averages to nearly 19, after which my PC froze (god knows
how high it would have went!). It returned back with a crashed X,
i386-pc-linux-gnu-g++ reporting an "internal error" (ghosh!). My RAM
usage went as high as 99%, with just about 2 megs free, SWAP was being
used full 100% (i have almost 200 megs swap). & at this point, i was
not even able to switch tty's or login to any one of them.

You see, something similar can happen if ur PC runs out of memory (grin)
