it is great to have another forum, but please don't make statements like 
above. This is a mailing list, and people are happy with it. Don't try to 
create a new forum and ask ilugd'ers to make it a "central point". This 
implies (to me, at least) that you want to replace the mailing list with your 
personal forum, which is a futile effort. We have already had discussions of 
mailing list vs. forums, and from what it seems, people are happy with this 
mailing list. Those people who want to join a linux forum can do so with the 
hundreds of free forums on the web.

A mild announcement is no harm, but please refrain from making such 
provocative statements.
