I just fired up the Ubuntu CD that was being distributed at the Freedel
event at PHDCCI today and it all seemed to be working great during the
install but then after the install was complete and I was anticipating a
nice shiney logon screen, I got a white screen....
I figured...hey probably some xorg.conf messup.....went into the console and
tried to login as root and then realized that while the setup had prompted
me to define a regular user profile.....at no stage during the installation
process was I ever prompted for the root password!
so im stuck with a system with no X....and no way to edit xorg.conf....
any clue what could have gone wrong?
Is there some default root passowrd that I need to know..?...or did i simpy
goof up somewhere and pressed enter twice? (blank root password does not
work so it could not have been something as simple as that).

Clueless..
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
