If you check from your internal lan, you will see the natted/ipsec-ed route.

If you want to see the real internet route, then run traceroute on the vpn 
gateway to the other vpn gateway.

You can't have both in an ipsec scenario - traceroute of internal lan as well 
as real ips involved.
