if i didnt believe your accounts are transparent, i would not have made this suggestion. Apart from the purely selfish motive of promoting my own software (which you have pointed out and i plead guilty to it) my main motivation is to show that this can be done securely in a live situation with live accounts, which will give amunition for free software advocates and egov advocates who can pressurise govt depts to put their accounts up live. Imagine, for example, a municipal contract for road repair, where every item of expenditure is put up live! The road may last more than the usual three months. Since as far as I know, ilugd is the only lug india which is registered - so the market for my sales pitch is restricted! As for security, i feel it is do-able. I personally know of chartered accounts abroad who maintain their clients accounts using sql-ledger in this manner. -- regards kg http://www.livejournal.com/users/lawgon tally ho! http://avsap.org.in ಇಂಡ್ಲಿನಕ್ಸ வாழ்க! _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- [email protected] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
