its not alpha software - it has been in production for over two years on a variety of sites run by the ppl who wrote it. And is in production elsewhere too. There has not yet been a formal release for the simple reason that once a release is made, all new releases will have to be backward compatible and so they have held off until they get a lot of feedback as to features required - anyway to each his own.
