dear monster,
you need to read up and google more if you want to learn to use linux.
IMHO what separates linux from the point-and-click world is the fact that it
will let you go as deep (in terms of complexity) to troubleshoot rather than
just rebooting and hoping like hell things will work.
ok, now to answer your question:
i wouldnt know how to do that in *your* system but i use debian mostly and
this is how *i* would do it-
go to /etc
vi modules
add eepro100
save and exit
run update-modules
voila!
