First confirm that acpi is working. One simple way I try is by "cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info" or "cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature" Maybe gurus can point out better command here. If I get intelligent output then instead of hibernate I do "sudo pmi action sleep" and this works with additional benefit that the re-start is much faster. And sound works! Sleep does "Swap to memory" and keeps CPU on with minimal power so that it can sleep for days. Hibernate is "Swap to disk" and does almost a full start. I do not have T43 but this has worked on some compaqs and acers. -- Sudev Barar Learning Linux _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- [email protected] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
