try this command for sending mail as attachment.
uuencode filename  filename  | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

See the man pages for uuencode.

Check the mysqldump page of the online mysql manual (dev.mysql.com) -
there are a few user comments detailing how to do what you want.
