   For playing High -end games my personal favourites are always
NVidia cards( Ut2003 and Quake 3) , Ati properiatery codes are little
buggy and the open source drivers doesn`t enable dri for all cards ,
But still they Both have good support on LInux Platform.

    If you want to check out the XGL+beryl manager then may be this
