I do not use CD R/RW exactly for archiving, but most of time I tried writing distro ISOs for distribution to friends, I have found Non-Indian media giving 100% FAILUREs. As for failures while using Indian media I am not sure whether the problem is caused by bad writing process or imperfect isos. You need to have access to different writers with the same ISOs to verify that the problem is not caused by the iso. MoserBaer and mmore have been acceptable whenever I tried transferring files between machines (sneaker net). -- Mahesh T.
