For your information, NIT Hamirpur's computer centre runs _only_ on Ubuntu 6.06. It is maintained by the local GLUG (http://glug-nith.org/). Not only that there are atleast half a dozen faculty members who use GNU/Linux,. Among them 2 use it as the only OS on their home desktop and laptops, and sometimes hang out on IRC (#glug-nith on Freenode) too. There is no NRC-FOSS or other external agency's involvement yet.
