-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Folks,
A reminder about mailing list etiquette in general... DO - - Cut out irrelevant portions of the message that you are replying to. No one wants to see 6 levels of signatures and list footers, and they add nothing to the content. - - Use proper English words -- no one is here to mark your spelling skills, but usage of words like ``u'', ``r'', etc. is a dead give-away of someone who's too lazy to make himself/herself comprehensible to anyone else. - - Keep your readers in mind when posting. It's OK to make posts interesting with flashes of humour, etc., but don't treat the list as your personal stream of consciousness and gabble your reaction to any post without thinking about its value to the rest of us. That's what blogs are for ;) DO NOT - - Top-post. Trying to follow conversations in reverse order is a major effort, and lots of people will just give up before starting. - - Reply to an existing post when starting a new topic. This causes problems with threading in any reasonable mail reader, and could cause your message to just get ignored or lost in the general noise on a busy thread. Most mailers today have a ``New message to mailing list'' or equivalent function, use it. - - Write about stuff not even tangentially connected with the purpose of the mailing list. Differences between G++ and VC++ are fine; who won Indian Idol is not.
