Thanks everyone for your encouragement and advice.Regarding
our TechFest (11-14th March'08) we have planned the following two
events :
1).A Quiz on Linux and OpenSource
2).An Exhibition of Linux distros
We have an active local forum ,and are mirroring
Ubuntu repository locally.We are also planning on a local wiki, and an
official local irc.If we succeed, we will be able to convince the
administration to make it visible from outside.We have few more plans
in the future, which include an active OpenSource development
community and a self customized Linux Distro.
We are facing a few limitations in organizing the
events.Specifically financial.All the contacts we have gathered are
local, i.e. in and near pilani, which as everyone knows is a small
town and lacks effective resources.We are looking for printing big
banners(may be a biiiiiggg TUX poster),burning cds and some other
linux goodies(T-shirts).Also are planning on distributing
Cathedral&Bazaar and some other pamphlets,may be quick HowTos.
Any help on these matters will be sincerely appreciated.
