List, Here is the minutes of the meeting on 30th March 2008.
ILUG-D March 08 Meeting was held at IITD and attended by about 15 people. General Discussion - Improving the participation in LUG activity. Some of the ideas proposed are doing - Tech Topics Virtualization, SELinux, Python, Java, JBoss, Fedora, ODF, OOXML and Open Standards, Desktop Linux Venky from RedHat has offered to provide speakers for some of the above topics. We would like to know list members' interest in some of the above topics. In general opinion was there that the LUG should Organize events/meeting and advertise in advance to see better participation from the list members. A nice overview of the voting process done by BIS on OOXML Voting is given by Venky and how our so called big IT companies voted for OOXML against our national interest. This big fours and NASCOMM should hang their head in SHAME. A nice talk and demo on status of OpenStreetMap in Delhi. More participation is required to speed up the Street Maps of Delhi. The next ILUG-D meet will be announced soon. We need venue and your suggestions for the topics of interests.
