Here are the minutes of the meeting held yesterday, with regards
to working with NIXI.
1. Internationalised domain names:
o Dinesh Shah to do initial research on RFCs, DNS resolution,
and W3C punicode issues. 2 weeks. Create Wiki by tomorrow.
o Raj Mathur: Study equivalent action in other countries, e.g., China.
o Take a call on further action times.
2. ipv6 roll-out:
o Andrew volunteered to volunteer Ashish Shukla (WahJava) for this.
3. Internet Governance Forum
o Possibly Suresh Ramasubramanian, Devdas Bhagat.
4. IndLinux-related work: Gora
o Server on a long-term basis?
o Funding for admin. of server?
5. Deployment for Indian languages: Gora, in a limited way.
Sudev: Evangelism
6. Survey of sites in .in domain: Sarai?
Sourav to put us in contact with juxtconsulting.
7. Reworking syllabus for removing mention of proprietary
information: Andrew, Raj, Venky?
o Syllabus fixed
o Textbook revision

o Certification in FOSS technologies
8. New ideas:
o Andrew: Distribution mirrors on backbone.
o Andrew, Sudev: NIXI establishing data-centres for open-source work.
