Hi, Thanks. The installation itself is an adventure of sorts. Since the EeePC does not have an optical drive, I had the option of using either an external USB drive or booting off a USB stick. I chose the latter option :) Also followed instructions here --> http://wiki.eeeuser.com/installing_ubuntu_8.04 and here ---> http://wiki.eeeuser.com/getting_ubuntu_8.04_to_work_perfectly as it explained some of the more trickier tweaks such as how to prevent evolution from launching everytime you plugged in mains power etc!
